A car accident can vary in it’s severity. However, no matter its severity an injury could occur. So many different injuries are possible during a traumatic experience like a car accident but a few are more common than others. Here are some of the most common injuries caused by a car crash:

Whip lash

Whip lash occurs when you experience a rapid front to back motion that injures your neck. It is considered a soft tissue injury. Most times it is better within weeks but can last much longer depending on the situation.

Cuts can occur if loose pieces fly in the accident. These can be painful and cause infections.

If there is a fire or explosion due to the accident burns are common.

Back Injuries

Your spine is not built to take high impact. Therefore, back injuries are common in car accidents.

Internal Injuries

Based on the impact of the accident an internal injury can occur. If something heavy or strong were to collide with you it could compress or puncture an organ.

Head Injuries

Head injuries of any severity can occur during an accident. Concussions are common. More severe injuries can result into the passenger slipping into a coma.

Broken Bones

The force of a car accident could break any bone. However, the most common bones to break are ones on your extremities.

Many, if not all of these injuries require immediate attention. Minor injuries can worsen over time if not treated properly. Whether or not an injury seems bad or not the person involved in the accident needs to be seen and evaluated to ensure all injuries are cared for.
